- Email -

When you get an account with divineright.org, you will have a new email address at <your account>@divineright.org, such as steve@divineright.org or arturo@divineright.org. You have several options for managing your Divine Right email, explained in detail below.

- About Spam -

Divineright.org uses strict filters on incoming mail. Our server checks every incoming email against several "blacklists" before allowing it through. Blacklists list what are called "open relays", or mail servers that are misconfigured to allow anybody on the internet to send mail through them. Legitimate mail from properly configured mail servers should pass through these blacklists without any problems. Most spammers, on the other hand, use open relays to obscure the original source of their mail. Since the open relays are often listed on at least one blacklist, mail from spammers gets rejected.

If you suspect that you are losing legitimate mail because of our filters, please let us know. We try to eliminate as much spam as we can, but it is a very thin line between eliminating spam and accidentally blocking legitimate mail.

- Forwarding -

Most subscribers already have email accounts elsewhere, and simply want their mail to be forwarded to their other address. All you have to do to set this up is log in to your account and use nano to create a file named ".forward" in your home directory. In the file, simply put one email address per line that you want mail to be forwarded to. Here is an example .forward file:

bill@yahoo.com
bill@hotmail.com

This file would instruct the server to forward any mail recieved at divineright.org to both bill@yahoo.com and bill@hotmail.com.

- Web Based Email -

Probably the easiest way to access your email is through our web based email application. Simply log in with your regular user name and password, and click the "Mail" button.

- Email Client Configuration -

Divineright.org also supports just about any email client there is, through POP3 or IMAP access. Simply set your client to either POP3 or IMAP mode, and set your mail server to mail.divineright.org. Use your regular username and password. If you are having trouble using a particular client, please contact us for help.
